The Difference Between Our Program and Other Activities

There are valuable lessons to be learned in any form of organized sports. Baseball, basketball, soccer, football, gymnastics, swimming, etc., all teach personal dedication, team work and physical fitness. The US Martial Arts Academy goes one step further in that we consider ourselves an institution of learning, thus the use of the word Academy in our name. Although the local college or private school may not be concerned if you come to class or drop out, we will make every effort to help you complete the requirements and achieve your Goals. However, the responsibility for learning is on your shoulders. The martial arts is not a seasonal sport, the martial arts is a life long journey of self-development. Our martial arts program focuses on self-confidence, respect, goal setting, discipline and self-defense. Students are here to improve the quality of their lives, through lessons and skills that could save lives. Our commitment to academic standards compels us to operate our program with principles similar to a college or private school, or any other institution of learning. Because it is an institution of learning, USMAA looks to parents to choose whether their children attend. Imagine your children deciding they no longer wanted to do homework or go to grade school!
